Men

Men’s Breakfasts

We hold men’s breakfasts once a term. They’re a great opportunity for blokes to get together on a Saturday morning, talk about life, enjoy a cholesterol infused fry up and think about being a Christian man. We usually have a short talk designed to help stimulate group discussion and personal reflection. Topics have included How to be a Mate, Being a Christian Disciple and Why Welcome Accountability?

Men’s Curry Night

About once a term a round robin e-mail gets sent and a facebook page is created when someone realises that it’s ages since we got together for a Biryani or a Bhuna. There’s no great agenda with these events other than to get to know one another better, encourage others in their Christian lives and eat curry!

One to One Bible Study

An increasing number of men at CCB are meeting informally in pairs to study the Bible together. Usually an older Christian will meet with a younger Christian. It’s a great opportunity to ask all the burning questions you haven’t been able to ask before. Some work through Bible study booklets together and some just read through and discuss one of Paul’s letters or other portions of scripture. Contact us if you would like to be linked up with someone to read with, or would like more information.

Prayer Triplets

Being a member of a prayer triplet with others in the church family is a great way to gain support and accountability from fellow Christians in similar circumstances. Most prayer triplets meet either weekly or fortnightly for a short time of prayer and discussion. Times and venues vary according to what is most convenient for the three members. Contact us if you would like to be put in touch with people for a potential prayer triplet.

London Men’s Convention

We’re enthusiastic supporters of the London Men’s Convention. It’s an annual event organised by an interdenominational group of evangelical ministers and leaders. Four thousand men gather from all over London and the south of England to sing, pray and hear the Scriptures taught to them. The organisers are convinced that Bible teaching is the only thing able to thoroughly equip a man ‘for every good work.' (2 Tim 3:17.) Speakers in recent years have included John Stott, Tim Keller, Al Stewart and Vaughan Roberts.

A group from CCB usually attends. The next London Men’s Convention will be advertised in church.

For more information about the next Convention, see their website.
